Bethany Gatlin
February's Swimmer of the Month
Coach Melissa says, "Bethany moved up from the Pre-Competitive Team to the Competitive Bronze Group in April 2011. Right from the start it was very noticeable that Bethany had a lot of talent and raw ability that was ready to be molded into a well rounded swimmer. Bethany is a very coachable swimmer who wants to be successful. She was just missing one important piece of the puzzle and that was believing in herself. Once Bethany started believing in herself, exciting things started to happen – she started achieving 11-12 Age Group State Q times and started picking up Silver Group cuts. Through lots of hard work, dedication and sheer desire Bethany finds herself on a fast track to success. In December she moved to the Silver Group and after our trip to Yuma Bethany now has 9 Age Group State qualifying times and is very close in 3 or 4 more events. There are great things in Bethany’s future. She just needs to continue to dedicate herself, work hard and BELIEVE!"
