The Trouble with Starts

This month we examine a common issue for all swimmers on our Development Team . . . the Start!

I have found some simple steps you can try either at home or at the practice pool to improve your Starts. These 5 short videos can assist you in breaking some bad habits and gaining some confidence when you step up on the starting block. Enjoy!

Step 1: Leg and Foot Control – Shallow End

Step 2: Streamlined Body – Shallow End

Step 3: Reinforce Streamlined Position from Side of Pool – Deep End

Step 4: Controlling Legs from Side of Pool / Block – Deep End

and finally . . . Putting it all together
